What is Laser Therapy?
Combination of red and near infrared laser therapy targets damaged tissue with specific wavelengths of light that have been found to interact with tissue and accelerate the healing process. Laser therapy has been found to penetrate tissue and initiate healing on a cellular level, allowing some patients to return to normal, everyday activities with little to no pain.
Much like photosynthesis in plants, light energy passes through the skin, into the cell membrane, initiating a process called photobiostimulation. This process enhances the body’s natural regenerative functions, as well as stimulating the release of endorphins and collagen. It may eventually even normalize damages or injured tissue.

Why Choose Laser Therapy by Jodi, LLC?
Laser Therapy by Jodi uses the most effective and well-trusted brand of equipment in Laser Therapy. With over 6 years experience, Jodi is the only certified laser therapist in Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT) in the State of Texas. Her experience also includes 2 years of nursing school, a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care, with certification for both Laser and Photobiomodulation therapy from the only accredited college in the US for PBMT. Through her practice, you can be sure you are receiving expert-level care.
Laser Therapy By Jodi uses a combination of both red and near infrared. Red is in the 600nm range and infrared is in the 700nm, and finally near infrared is in the 800nm range. Researchers found looking under a microscope the 700nm range (infrared) does nothing to our cells. However, our cells respond to both red (600) and near infrared (800). The combination of the two (red and near infrared) are most therapeutic and provide the longest lasting results.
What to Expect?
-
Laser/LED therapy enhances your own body's natural process of healing while managing pain & inflammation. That being said it generally involves a recommended treatment plan of typically 4-6 weeks for resolution. There are cases that require less and there are cases that require more. Many factors to consider.
-
It is noninvasive and painless. Many clients feel very relaxed following their sessions. There is no downtime required due to this therapy however if you have an injury you should still follow the recommendations of your doctor on how long you should let your injury rest.
-
The light needs to be directly on the skin so there may be partial undressing but you will lay comfortably on a massage table with sheets and blankets so you will be covered the whole time.
-
As with the natural course of healing, inflammation can get worse before it gets better. That translates to pain can temporarily increase before it improves. To help with this it is important to drink 64-80 ounces of water the days of your sessions.
-
These sessions build on one another so in the beginning your relief may be minor and wear off quickly but as we repeat the sessions the effects will increase and the time they last will increase until your injury is healed.

Pins, rods, and pacemakers are safe but there are 3 contraindications. It is currently not recommended to treat if you are pregnant, epileptic, or have a current cancer diagnosis. Pregnant women can get treatment as long as you don't treat the fetus. Can be treated elsewhere on the body. Same for cancer patients. You just don't want to treat over the site of the cancer. Safe to treat elsewhere.
